The Dr Karine series from Bayer Healthcare aimed to provide practical information about heart failure and CKD to both patients and healthcare professionals working in these areas.

I worked on these while I was a part of the design team at Fleishman Hillard. This was an ongoing series when I started so the style had already been established by the art director. The concept was to create a hand-drawn, educational feel with the blackboard texture and the illustrations being animated as if drawn. The hope for this was that it would seem less clinical and intimidating that other healthcare content whilst still delivering the key facts.

As is the case with all healthcare related content, it was important that the information in these videos was as accurate as possible so I worked closely with the client and legal teams. Since wording was often being updated, I kept the files easily editable so that I could make quick amends to the copy throughout production.
