In the summer of 2025 I worked with the reporting team at The News Movement, a social focused news organisation aiming to bring the news to a younger generation. This video’s aim was to highlight the impact from new healthcare reforms in the US which would massively hit HIV treatment and funding in lower income areas.
I was brought onto the project to design and animate some informative graphics to highlight the statistics being talked about in the video. Since TNM reporting style is designed as short-form first I designed these graphics to be 9:16 and we chose to use a collage-inspired look paired with the clean, easy to understand graphic elements.
I worked closely with the producer and reporting team on this stage since we wanted the information to be accurately and sensitively portrayed.
For the animation I wanted to keep the movement simple so that the information could take centre stage. Again working with the rest of the team to make sure what we were saying was coming across accurately. To add to the collage feeling I added a stop-motion paper texture to the background and adjusted the blending mode of the graphic elements so it felt more integrated.
